We Are Going Camping As a Family
My husband and I have never taken a real family vacation with our kids. He has taken them to his parent’s house for a few days while I worked, and I have done the same with my folks. We decided that we really needed to start making some memories of all of us together though. We figured one of the best ways to do this would be to go camping. We both have hectic schedules, but we managed to both take the same week off for the first time since we married.
We used to go camping together all the time, but we knew we would need to get new camping gear because it had been so long. We wrote a list of everything we would need, then split it down the middle. He was going to take care of the tent and cooking equipment while I found air mattresses and purchased all the food we would need to take. I thought I had gotten off easy, until I saw just how many different kinds of air mattresses there are. I was looking at the local department store but knew that I would need to find a website that deals just in mattresses so I could find out which ones are the best.
I was able to find the perfect site that had so many different kinds. I ended up getting two smaller ones for the kids, and I got a standard queen size bed for us. I especially liked ours because it is elevated a bit, which will make it a lot easier to get on and off! I was also able to find a great deal on an air pump as well as carrying cases for everything. It actually was just as easy as I had first thought. Buying all the food actually took a lot longer!
